Saffron's Ladybird has new name!

Following a summer-long competition, Saffron Building Society is delighted to announce that its Ladybird Mascot has been named by a young saver from Bishop's Stortford.

Over 680 children entered the competition by suggesting a name for the loveable Ladybird, with entries submitted in Saffron's 12 branches and via its website. Following shortlisting and a staff vote, the winning name chosen was 'Miss Moneyspots'; a name suggested by 11 year old Grace McCarthy.

In addition to Saffron's Ladybird adopting Grace's suggested name, Saffron are also paying £100 in to Grace's savings account by way of congratulations.

Kevin Hall, Branch Manager at Saffron's Bishop's Stortford branch said: "We had a brilliant response to the Name the Ladybird competition and I am particularly chuffed that the winner is a local customer."

"The competition really captured the imagination of youngsters in the region and we had hundreds of brilliant suggestions to choose from. We emailed each entrant to thank them and hope that they will visit us again soon. Most importantly, Miss Moneyspots is very pleased with her new name!"

Miss Moneyspots is the mascot of Saffron's Ladybird Savings account - an account for children under the age of 12, designed to introduce them to the savings habit. You can find out more about Saffron's Ladybird account, and other accounts that the Building Society offer by visiting any of their branches in the region, calling Saffron on 0800 072 1100 or visiting www.saffronbs.co.uk.
