Meet The Brentwood Team
Kelly Smith
Kelly, Brentwood's Branch Manager, has been with Saffron for 5 years, with work experience including time at Natwest and, more unusually, selling pink leather bibles to bookshops. She has been managing both Stratford and Brentwood branches since November 2008, but will be giving her full attention to Brentwood once the new branch is open. She's getting married in February 2011 in Montego Bay and has two 'babies' already - Buster and Otis, her Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
Though Kelly is sad to be leaving Stratford branch, she is relishing the opportunity to lead a new team in a brand new branch.
Michael Niklewicz
Formerly of our Great Dunmow branch, Michael is moving to the Brentwood Branch to continue doing what he does best - spending time with our customers and helping them to find the best options for their money. He has been with Saffron for 3 years and 3 months following a varied career which has involved book-keeping and supervising the boating lake at Pontins. He has also sung with Rod, Jane and Freddy from Rainbow when he was at school. He has not had to call upon his vocal talents since, but there's always a first time.
Michael's aptitude for looking after customers has won him much admiration from customers in Dunmow, and customers in Brentwood should look forward to the 'Polish Prince' treatment - Michael is so called because, had Poland retained its monarchy, Michael's mother's family would have been 5th in line to the throne!
Janice Newman
Janice retired in August having worked for Saffron Building Society for three years. She was looking forward to frequent holidays in the sun and a long trip to New Zealand to visit her youngest son. However, a telephone call from Kelly whilst returning from the beach on Menorca has changed all that, as she has kindly agreed to return to help out at the new office.
Janice has had a varied career, starting work with the Midland Bank more years ago than she cares to remember. Previous to working for Saffron Building Society she spent 17 years working locally as an estate agent but with cake baking and reading as hobbies, she does not appear to have been a typical estate agent.
Jamie McQuade
Jamie has been with Saffron for a year. He is now a full-time member of staff having come to Saffron as an apprentice upon leaving school. His apprenticeship included Landmark Training alongside his work experience. After a few weeks it was clear that this young man was going to be a star of the future, and Saffron were delighted to say 'Jamie - you're hired!!
Jamie is well-known for making waves with our customers with his energy and friendliness. He is frequently commended for his customer service and it's clear that he'll be sorely missed at his old Stratford branch. A die-hard West Ham supporter and fully of cheeky banter, we're confident that Jamie will have many friends in Brentwood within a matter of hours.
Caroline Nunn
Caroline has been with Saffron for the last three years, covering our Brentwood and Stratford branches. Having finished her A Levels, a vacancy in Stratford caught her attention. Though she claims she was 'very nervous' in her interview, she obviously impressed Kelly who gladly hired her.
Often judged quickly as a 'typical Essex Girl', Caroline is quick to assure people that she is a fountain of knowledge and that the love of fake tan and bleach blonde hair is merely a disguise. She loves 'anything sparkly' which is a definite reflection of her cheery and fun-loving personality. Not fazed by a challenge, Caroline goes 'back to school' this September, embarking on a Part Time Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Should her two disciplines get muddled on busy days, we hope you'll forgive her if you visit to pay in a cheque and she asks '.and how does that make you feel..?'.
